Early mornings are my magical time for creating — I often wake between 3–5am to bring to life the things I’ve imagined.

On a quiet morning, I stepped outside at 5:14am and witnessed the extraordinary sight of Starlink crossing the eastern sky. At the same time, the horizon was glowing with that breathtaking aqua-green hue, and I found myself thinking of how the ocean must have looked under that light. It reminded me of an early morning walk at Porthcothan beach when the sea shimmered in that exact tone — a colour that feels like a bridge between ocean and sky.

That memory, and a fused glass piece I had made three years earlier, suddenly clicked into place — I knew I was finally meant to create this set. The fused glass has captured a rare gradient of deep ocean blue into radiant aqua-green, a combination I cannot currently recreate.
